Cornerstone refusing to load Part 2

I posted a thread on this two weeks ago but the thread has been closed. Please can you see my secure note…

ive got the exact same issue, my internet is super fast

Hi guys,

Thanks for reaching out.

@demonboy Have you tried the recommended procedures? I still can see the incompatible theme and cornerstone in your site. Your theme is 6.1.6 while you already updated the cornerstone to 3.2.5 Please update your theme to 6.2.5 to match it to your cornerstone.

@Ormerod, please start a new thread and provide your site’s URL and admin login credentials in a secure note. I’ll need to check it as well. For the meantime, please check for the following first:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list at https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. See https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62 for more details.

  2. Clear all caches including browser cache then deactivate your caching plugins and other optimization plugins.

  3. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.

  4. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

  5. Remove custom CSS, Javascript and templates.

  6. Reset your htaccess file by renaming it to .htaccess-bak. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button.

  7. Contact your host to increase your allocated memory or do it yourself by adding this code in your wp-config.php

define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M' );

Thanks.

I am looking at Cornerstone and see that I have an old version, but how do I update it? I assumed that updating X would update Cornerstone but that’s not the case. I have downloaded the latest version of X, found the zipped Cornerstone plugin and followed the instructions here:

In it, it says to ftp the folder to wp-content/themes/x/framework/plugins. This folder does not exist in my X file structure, so how is Cornerstone manifesting itself?

I checked the wp-content/plugins folder and see the Cornerstone plugin there instead. It says the folder was last modified two days ago, so doesn’t that suggest it’s been updated? The folder structure is identical and the file sizes the same.

So, where do I put the Cornerstone folder? Within a non-existent X folder or within my usual plugins folder?

I am completely confused. Please help!

UPDATE:

I deleted the Cornerstone plugin altogether.

I deleted X theme completely.

Downloaded a new version of X theme 6.2.5

Activated my X child theme.

Validated my X theme.

Received a message that said “We noticed Cornerstone was installed but not activated. By visiting the X Addons page, Cornerstone has been activated automatically.” This doesn’t make sense since I see no X Addons page but anyway, Cornerstone 3.2.5 has been activated.

I have reset my htaccess file and added the allocated memory to my config file.

Cornerstone will not load.

Hey @demonboy,

I tried testing for a plugin conflict and I got a 500 Internal Server error. The issue might be coming from one of the third party plugins. Please deactivate them while we’re troubleshooting and also provide us with cPanel access.

Also try contacting your host to increase your Max Execution Time to 300 seconds.

Thanks.

Cpanel details

Hi There,

I have checked your cPanel but it does not have any option to switch PHP versions or to change PHP INI configurations or settings, so you need to contact your hosting provider directly.

Since your hosting provider has full access to your log files, they should be able to resolve the issue.

Thanks!

Unlike when I first checked, Cornerstone now works fine when in the test page I’ve created in your site (see secure note). I also checked your home page and Cornerstone works there also

Please clear your browser cache then check again. Also test in incognito mode and other browsers.

Thanks.

Thanks. This is now sorted.

You’re welcome.
