Cornerstone Preview Not Loading, Getting Error

Good day all!

So I’ve been dealing with this issue for some time now, I had a previous post with the same issue but it’s now closed guess I took too much time off over the holidays lol. As I’ve said in my previous post, I keep getting an error, “The preview was unresponsive after loading. This is most often related to a plugin conflict or aggressive page caching”. I’ve tried everything in the guideline I was given, including testing my plugins, I’ve deleted my WP Super Cache plugin and all accompanying data, cleared my web browser what has to be dozens of times now, switched to parent theme to see if cause was any customization I might’ve done… All to no avail. I spent nearly two hours yesterday with my host providers tech support trying to figure out the issue… No background or ‘passive caching’ on their end and server appears to be performing fine. What should I try next?

Here’s the thread to my previous post: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/getting-an-error-loading-cornerstone-preview/17219

Hello @storeadmin1,

Thanks for writing back and wish you happy and prosperous new year. :

I had a look at the previous ticket you created and also the website backend as well. After spending couple sometime on website, I performed couple of tests and it seems that now Cornerstone is loading fine.

  1. Plugin test: I could see error message showing up on dev tools. I navigated to plugin section and deactivated all the plugins other then Cornerstone. After that I reloaded the website and Cornerstone builder is working fine now. I have created a video screencast that you can take a look. I have rolled back to earlier state. However sometimes it gives on issues and as of now I can figure out two possible reasons PHP version and Performance.

  2. PHP: I also noticed that you are running PHP version 5.6.32. As of now the recomend Php version is 7.0 or greater. Running old version of Php can have potential conflicts. You can also refer WordPress server requirement document. https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/

  3. Performance: It seems that you are using shared hosting to run the website. In browser console I see error message related with netowork performance. I suggest you upgrade from shared hosting as most of the time limited server resource can affect the performance and working of website and underline modules. https://www.screencast.com/t/tuysumvVSge

Thanks.

Hi Prasant,
Thanks for that! I’ve upgraded my PHP version but for some reason my ‘About’ page is consistently throwing me the error where as my other pages loaded with cornerstone are working fine most of the time. I’ll talk with my team about upgrading from a shared plan and see what happens.

Thanks
