Cornerstone | Conflict while trying to edit

I get this message when trying to edit in Cornerstone: A conflict on the front end of your site has prevented the preview from loading.

Re: troubleshooting, I’ve checked KB and support and have tried the various fixes mentioned. I’ve checked with my hosting provider too.

I can provide access credentials on the next post.

Hi there,

Unfortunately, there is no URL in the secure note to be able to check the case.

It can be caused by several reasons which you need to rule out one by one for your environment. Please kindly follow the steps mentioned in the article below:

https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/popular-questions/204

In addition please make sure that the PHP memory limit is enough to operate the website and the theme. To change the PHP memory limit please kindly read the article below:

https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-customizer/196 (Not Working or Showing a White Screen section.)

You may need to contact your hosting service provider for some of the steps mentioned above.

Thank you.

Total idiot here. Apologies for leaving out the URL in the previous message. The site we’re having a problem with is http://www.mbpz.org.

This links you to a screengrab of the problem:https://www.screencast.com/t/j8rQ0G99O4

The X theme version is 5.1.1, Cornerstone is ver 2.0.6. We’re not having timeout issues with the customizer, but I’ve asked our host to increase the PHP memory from 128mb to 512.

Let me know if I can provide any other information.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi there,

Looks like when they increased the limit, it also fixed the issue. It’s now loading in my end, please check this screenshot.

Thanks!

Any idea why it’s still happening on this end? I’ve rebooted. Cleared my cache. Cleared my LAN cache. Have tried editing across Chrome, Firefox & Opera.

It looks like it happened again after my colleague checked your site. I see it doesn’t work in your home page.

I created a test page at http://mbpz.org/x-support-test/ and was able to add an element and save but after the page reload, the error message popped up.

Would you mind doing these additional troubleshooting steps:

  1. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.

  2. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

  3. Remove custom CSS, Javascript and templates.

Thanks.

Hi,

I think the issue was a plugin conflict. FWIW, the plugin WP Statistics was causing the error. Thanks for your help!

You are welcome!
