Center text image

Hi Themeco team,

I’ve tried a few fix’s I found on the forum to do this - but they’re not working - I’m probabaly doing them wrong.

I want to centre images I’ve placed into text blocks here > https://www.screencast.com/t/EN5oacrw8H

My website - www.honestyforyourskin.co.uk

How can I do this?

Thanks so much,

Cheryl

Hello Cheryl,

Thanks for asking.

Can you please share exact page URL? I tried finding the page in question on your website but I am unable to find the same.

Thanks.

Hi Prasant - here’s the link, I’ve just published it > https://wp.me/P6LuQS-1Iq

Hi There,

Thanks for the details!
I would recommend you to use image element instead of the text element.
if you are fine with text element please make the text element width 100% and text-align center.

Hope this helps!

Thankyou Basanta!

This didn’t actually work when i was using the text element, but i have managed to make this work with the image element now - thankyou.

I actually have another issue with the same page. The accordion I’m using - the text is in italics > https://www.screencast.com/t/KEbttz7oWiK0. I cannot find any open italic HTML which could be causing this. Can you help?

Hi There,

Please double check on this section:

There might be an </i> tag missing.

If it still doesn’t work, please provide us with your admin account so we can take a closer look.

Thanks.

Hi @Cherylwoodman

Upon checking your site, I see that you’re not fully updated including X theme and Cornerstone plugin. I would suggest you to take a full backup of your site and then update accordingly. You can check the latest version numbers from here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195).

Also after updating, clear style cache by head over to X -> Settings and also purge server cache if you’re using a caching plugin and test your issues again.

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Help!!!

This has not fixed the problem but has;

  • Changed the text style accross my entire site
  • removed background images from landing pages like here > www.honestyforyourskin.co.uk
  • Made my social bar change colour so you can’t see the links

What’s happened? Please tell me i won’t have to manually re-add photos to each landing page?

I’ve checked the settings and the background image is still telling me it’s there - however you can’t see it at all.

Please can you help - this is the homepage/landing page of my site and looks completely unprofessional at the moment!

Hi Cheryl,

I’m sorry that you’re having this issue now, that is because you updated the X to the latest version (6.1.6), but not your Cornerstone (3.0.4), so now they become incompatible.

Normally we would advise updating your Cornerstone to the latest version (3.1.6) as well so they become compatible with X.

However, I saw that you have a lot of theme files on your child theme, and we don’t know if these are modified or not, in any case, please we advise to restore your previous version of X instead, and keep the Cornerstone (3.0.4).

Don’t edit page yet until the X and Cornerstone goes back to the normal/previous state.

I’m still investigating the italic accordion, I’ll let you know when I found the culprit of that.

Thanks,

Found it! you have another opening <i> tag on this text.

Cheers!

Hi Friech,

What would be the best way to go back to my previous version of X? I took a site backup before - so if i reinstall this (?) - However will it loose the sales I’ve made in the last 24 hours - I’m thinking yes.

On the child theme front - I’m not sure I’ve made any theme file changes - I have a lot of custom css which i understand the child theme will keep on updates? Should the child theme not keep changes like these? Is there a way to test the update of cornerstone and if not go back to the old version?

Can this reset button help me? https://www.screencast.com/t/vytfk4F9Yjk

Or do i need to upload the last theme version here and reset?

Also on another note: rookie move, I’ve lost the note with my pervious theme version on it. Is there a way i can tell what this was? I know it was 5. something.

My site also hasn’t picked up that there is a new update of cornerstone available either - the update function in plugins isn’t available.

Hello There,

You are already using the latest version of the theme. All you need to do is update Cornerstone to the latest version and one final thing is to login to your CloudFlare account and purge your site cache. All of the issues should be resolved once you have updated every thing to the latest version and purge your site cache.

Things to do:

  • Make sure that X theme is up to date
  • update Cornerstone to the latest version 3.1.6
  • Clear your site cache in Site Ground’s hosting panel
  • Login to CloudFlare and purge your site cache

Hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes.

Thankyou RueNel - this helped lots and the problem is fixed.

I now actually have a new 1 off of the cornerstone update. There used to be an option to add a background image to a new section. On existing pages i already have this option set i see a new background layer image option here > https://www.screencast.com/t/Gdi5whh5L

However when i add a new section, i don’t see this option. You can see here > https://www.screencast.com/t/IBplIQdS4

Can you help?

Also my social icons on the header bar are still transparent after the update. Why has this happened?

Hi Cheryl,

Please enable the Advance Moded under Settings > Preferences

That is part of the X6 updates, which you can read more here.

Regarding your social icons, please navigate to Appearance > Menus and replace your social menu Navigation Label with the icon code that is provided here

Hope that helps,
Cheers!
