Cannot open Pro header or footer builder

Hi,

We’ve run into a problem: the Pro header and footer builders will not open. They were both working fine yesterday. At this point, we have no idea what might be causing the problem or how to fix it.

Theme Options, Templates, and Content all still open as expected.

Best,
Andrew

I think we found the issue. We increased the ‘memory_limit’ in php.ini on our server. The builders now load again properly.

This previous thread was of help:

Hey There,

We are just glad that you have figured it out a way to correct the said issue.
Thanks for letting us know!

Best Regards.

Hi Rue,

Thanks for checking in on this problem. Happily, it doesn’t seem to be a common issue. All the same, is there any chance you could pop up an error message (with the possible solution) when the problem does occur? Something like this could be very helpful:

BTW we receive the message above almost every time we attempt to edit a page in Pro. Often, we need to attempt the load many times (4+) before it succeeds. And sometimes, the page loads completely blank, or with only the header and footer showing. Can you shed any light? We’ve attempted to diagnose plugin conflicts and “aggressive page caching” with no success.

All the best,
Andrew

Hi There,

You can also install the following plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-serverinfo/1) and then head over to Dashboard -> WP-Serverinfo and check the following information.

PHP version
PHP Max Script Execute Time

We do recommend PHP v5.6.32 or higher and max script execution time 120 or higher to run Cornerstone smoothly.

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Thanks ml!

We’ll give that a try.

Best,
Andrew

Please let us know how it goes.
If you need anything else we can help you with, don’t hesitate to open another thread.

Thank you.

FYI we achieved somewhat better performance by increasing the script execution time from 60s to 120s as mldarshana suggested.

For the time-being, we cannot update the PHP on our server because it must support a legacy WP installation. The server is currently running PHP v5.5.9. Our server expert said we should expect about 10% increase in performance after we upgrade to 5.6.x.

Best,
Andrew

You’re welcome, Andrew.

How do you increase the server max script time. Is this provider that does this?

Hi there,

Yes, they should able to do it. And if it’s a shared hosting, then you must contact them for any configuration.

Thanks!

same problem here:

I’m using Pro, and don’t even have the buttons.

Hey @MayaGrey,

Did you use X and X child theme before and then switched to Pro? If so, please update your child theme to use Pro. Here’s the instruction. If that is not the case, please open a separate thread then give us WP Admin and FTP access in a Secure Note.

Thanks.
