Can´t update Pro

Hi!
I have an issue with udating two sites:

https://bkko.no/ and https://mko.no/ they are hosted on the same server.

I’m getting this error when I try to update the Pro Theme:

The update can not be installed because some of the files will not be copied. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions. Cornerstone / includes / classes / styling / class font manager.php

it say all updates have been done under that but they have not.

I read this article https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/can-t-update-cornerstone-to-3-1-3/34497 and I tried changing the permissions for that file. Nothing happened. See screenshot. At this point I´m not sure how to fix this without further assistance. Can you please help?

I will ad login details in secure note.

Hi @annekling,

Thanks for writing in.

At this time, I could not upload or update anything because I could see that you have given us your live site. In this case, create staging sites for the both the site or one of the site. After creating staging site, share us the admin credentials and we’ll do our best to help you with this updating problem. We just don’t want to jeopardize your current live sites.

Please contact also your hosting also why you could not be able to upload file to your setup and is there any hosting caching or security feature that causes this issue.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks.

Hi!
I have now cloned the site and created a staging site on a subdomain. I will include the login details in a secure note. My hosting company says there´s nothing wrong with my servers ability to upload files. I

Hi Ariell,

Thank you for the credentials, I did validate your staging site (see your licenses page) then tried to update it, and it succeeds in the first try (see screencast below).

Try to revoke and revalidate your live sites navigate to Pro > Validations at bottom look for the revoke validation, then revalidate it again. And then try to update your sites.

Let us know how it goes,
Cheers!

That didn´t work either, can it have something to do with the Https vs only http?

Hi There,

Speaking of that, can you correct this Google tag manger error I can’t find where did you add this, it seems you have double ss on the https.

Since your PRO (2.0.4) is kind of outdated, can you do a manual update for now? You can follow the Manual X Update Via FTP guide that is provided here.

Then let’s see on the next release if the issue persists.

Thanks,

I have experienced the same problem with 3 different sites now after doing an auto update. When I look in the error log I see:

17-Jul-2018 11:49:14 UTC] PHP Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/public_html/wp-content/themes/pro/cornerstone/includes/classes/styling/class-font-manager.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/alt/php72/usr/share/pear’) in /public_html/wp-content/themes/pro/cornerstone/includes/cornerstone-plugin.php on line 105

I check the file class-font-manager.php and then see it has permissions set wrongly:

It’s not possible to change the permissions using either FTP, or online file manager in cPanel, so I just delete the file with FTP and then upload a new/good version of it from my computer and everything is working again.

I noticed this on 2 sites this week after updating and also on one last month, so it’s not just a problem with the most recent update.

Hi There,

Hope you got it fixed.
Let us know!

Thanks!

Actually I just found the cause of the errors on the permissions for that file. It is some software called Immunify 360 that seems to be running on all my servers and installed by my provider: See this screenshot…

Thanks for sharing, Steve. I’ll post this in our issue tracker so our development team would be made aware once they go through the list of reports.
