Building on Local Host then transfering to live site

Hi. Im building a clients site locally and I just installed and activated the theme locally. before I start building I want to know if i am going to be able to migrate the entire site tot he live host. I saw some posts about cornerstone being a problem. When I have finished the site how do I migrate it AND do i need to relicence the theme on the live site.

Hi Peter,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Yes you can migrate the entire site to live server after building the site on localhost, here’s a quick guide that you can follow for migration https://wpshout.com/quick-guides/all-in-one-wp-migration/ or you can refer to our guide here https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/themeco-hosting-how-to-migrate-your-wordpress-site/190

Also review the Cornerstone data migration from site to site here https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/cornerstone-content-builder-migration/126

Hope this helps!

Hi so just to check. If I use All-in-one-wp-migration will i still need to use the cornerstone content migration? Im confused why this would be necessary. Can you explain please.

I also asked about relicencing. if i migrate do i have to update the licence to reflect the new domain from localhost to https://www.example.com

Hi Peter,

You can skip that, the All in one migration plugin should do it all

And yes, you’ll have to assign your site’s URL replacing the localhost to your license and re-validate it in admin again. Please check this https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-product-validation/55 under Manage License section.

Thanks!
