Blog Page keeps reverting to old page - V2

Hi …

Opening a new thread following my previous post, https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/blog-page-keeps-reverting-to-old-page/45640/7

My previous blog page (NOT IN USE) is Blog_old
New blog page (IN USE) in My Blog

Currently, the Navigation is set via the menu to use ‘My Blog’ Page, which is using the GRID plugin to display the blogs.

However, when I add the My Blog page to Please go to the WP Admin > Settings > Reading as the Post Page it reverts the page template to the default WordPress template and overrides the GRID plugin template.

How do I stop this overriding?

Thanks

Hi @iDigitalise,

Thanks for reaching out.

You mean you’re expecting to see your own designed blog page? That’s not possible when you assign a page as a blog page, Wordpress will always override it. Wordpress will only use the URL of that blog page but not gonna use that page for display, it will display its own blog page.

Thanks!

Ok Got it! Thanks!

You’re welcome!

Rad - Sorry, I just realised that I have a similar setup on another Xtheme site, and the blog page is setup in the settings yet it display the layout differently.
Could you please check? Why is this the case?

Hey @iDigitalise,

Upon checking, it is displaying X’s Blog Design or Layout and that’s correct (see the secure note). What layout are you expecting?

If you want to use a page with The Grid, you must not set the Posts page like in the screenshot below.

If you want to use The Grid to replace the display, please review the grid template setup at https://theme-one.com/docs/the-grid/#grid_as_template

Also review the best theme customization practices at https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/customizations-best-practices/205

And once you’re familiar with X / Pro theme customization, the template you’ll want to override or the template with the loop is _index.php and it’s located at pro\framework\views\global. You’ll want to replace the loop in there with The Grid’s template.

Thanks.
