Another "conflict on the front end"

This is a very small site with only two pages – front page and the posts page. Front page is fine, but I can no longer edit the posts page; I get the error “Conflict on the front end of your site has prevented the preview from loading.” I’ve read most or all of the posts on this topic, and have tried everything I could find.

  • deactivated and deleted all plugins
  • eliminated all custom code (there wasn’t much)
  • deleted and reinstalled the Pro theme
  • shut down any security measures I could find
  • I installed the Transient Cleaner plugin but Wordpress.org says I’m not authorized to run it
  • Domain is with Wordpress.org and site is hosted there. I don’t have access to FTP or root files, so I haven’t been able to debug or increase cache sizes. (Maybe there’s a way I don’t know?)
  • I’m not using Cloudflare.

URL is http://www.thedailyplatform.com.

Thank you!

It can be caused by several reasons which you need to rule out one by one for your environment.
You already did some, please kindly follow the steps mentioned in the article below:

https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/popular-questions/204

In addition please make sure that the PHP memory limit is enough to operate the website and the theme. To change the PHP memory limit please kindly read the article below:

https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-customizer/196 (Not Working or Showing a White Screen section.)

You may need to contact your hosting service provider for some of the steps mentioned above.

Thank you.

Yes, I’ve tried those steps. I’ve asked WP.org to adjust the PHP memory limit, since I can’t do that myself. Hopefully that will do the trick – if not, I don’t know what else to do.

Hello There,

Thanks for updating in! I have logged in and tested Cornerstone. I even created a test page. You can check it in the secure note. Please keep in mind that blog index and archive pages cannot be edited in Cornerstone even with the default WP editor. Please also keep in mind that any page you assigned as your Posts page cannot and will no longer be editable with Cornerstone and even with the default WP Editor either. For further information, please check out the codex particually #2: https://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page#Creating_a_Static_Front_Page

Hope this explains it briefly.

Wow, I didn’t realize that’s how the blog index page worked. Thank you so much for your help!

You are welcome!
