So, I’m sure many of you have seen by now that Advanced Custom Fields plugin on the WordPress directory has been taken over by WordPress Security team. What a time to be alive aye.
Whats the impacts for Pro users?

Hey Daniel,
I guess PRO users using the ACF are safe. The Secure Custom Fields plugin integrates the ACF fields without issues. When ACF plugin is deactivated, the {{dc:acf......}}
dynamic content may not work. If you are using {{dc:post:meta.....}}
, you will be safe as it will work without issues.
Best Regards.
Wait…
Why would the ACF plug-in be deactivated, @ruenel?
Are any of these assertions incorrect?
Wouldn’t the proper thing be that Theme.co updates Pro so that it pulls in the updated ACF Pro plugin-in? I’ve never been able to update the ACF Pro plugin directly from within Wordpress’ plugin page, so nothing should really change, correct?
ACF Pro was never affected by the takeover as it’s provided through ACF Pro on their own servers. And yes we download ACF Pro from them directly and supply it to any Themeco user created before April 1st 2024. Nothing will change on your end. We have a more detailed write-up here. Have a great day.
I’ll take your word for it @charlie, and hope that “nothing will change” is not a shaky concept in a time where everything is constantly changing.
I got this login checkbox on wordpress.org when I tried to log in today! It is a required field!
I feel a bit biased, am I now affiliated with WPEngine in “any way” if I use theme.co products that use WPEngine products? Are they serious???
