Working with menus and CPU utilization

Is there a known condition where when working with a large menu, using the standard WordPress menu builder, that the computer CPU takes a beating. Looks like its Google Chrome Helper maxing and over maxing the CPU utilitzation.

It reproducible enough where I now expect the computer fan to kick on because of the CPU. And ONLY happens when I’m inside the menu builder.

Was wondering if anyone had experienced that behavior.
