Visual Composer elements not working

Hi, Thanks for your response.

We recently updated X theme version to the latest one as per the upgrade as on 16th May 2019 and at the same time we also updated the visual composer plugin.

After updating both the plugins, we found that the any of the option of Visual composer is no longer working and we are unable to publish any new page on the website. Please check screenshot attached below regarding this concern.

Also if we are using the latest version of Visual composer the whole site is getting down and on the website site & also on the admin url we are getting this error “The site is experiencing technical difficulties. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.” while, we are not getting any email inbox at the same time. (so for now we have restored the older version of Visual Composer for keeping the website up & running)

Also after upgrading the versions another major problem we experienced that there are many pages on the website which content has been messed up & showing code instead of the content and due to non-functioning of visual composer we are unable to fix those pages as well. We must need the resolution for this problem at the earliest and looking forward to hear from you soon with best possible solution.

If you wouldn’t mind providing us with a little more clarification on what it is you’re wanting to do , we’ll be happy to provide you with a response once we have a better understanding of the situation.

Hi @Golfasian,

Have you tried to enable the Legacy X Integration option in WPBakery Page Builder Settings > General? If not, kindly try to enable it and see it the issue is fixed. A common request we get is to not overwrite parts of the WPBakery Page Builder. We are committed to keep supporting sites from the early days of X where Visual Composer was our page builder but we’ve consolidated all that integration code under one setting. It used to be enabled by default, but you will now need to opt-in to using it.

Hey @Golfasian,

Your WP Admin is broken.

Please note that the Call to Action element is a native Visual Composer element and may not work if you’re using our X Integration and we do not support the native Visual Composer elements and features. For more details, please read this article: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/extension-visual-composer/76

To use Visual Composer natively, you need to disable X Integration. You won’t be able to use our X Visual Composer integrated elements though, and remember that our theme does not support them.

The code you see in the frontend looks like is coming from an excerpt. Though I understand it might have worked in the past, it does not mean that the setup is supported as excerpts are really not meant to display shortcodes out of the box. If you’re using a page builder for your posts, you need to use the Manual Excerpt method

If the code you see is part of the CTA native VC element, please try unchecking the X Integration.

Please also test switching to the default WordPress theme and see if the issue persists because it is also possible that this is a bug in Visual Composer. If this is the case, we will send a report to the plugin author.

Hey @Golfasian,

I’m sorry but we do not have an exact solution because we couldn’t login to your site. Please revert to a working backup of your site and copy your site to a staging server and update X, Cornerstone and Visual Composer in the staging site and do the tests I’ve mentioned in the staging server first.
