Upgrading to Pro from X Cornerstone Problems

Hi, I’ve cloned my live site to a dev site to try and upgrade to Pro. If I try and upgrade to Pro on the dev site with Cornerstone actiavted the site bombs and I just get a white screen, if I update with Cornerstone deactivated Pro will work but my content is not editable when I try and edit the page. The site looks as expected when I view it using a browser, but as soon as I try and edit the page I get:

If I try and activate Cornerstone I get:

Any advice? I’ve tried reading through the other topics regarding Cornerstone and upgrading to Pro and I haven’t seen any of these specific errors. I cloned my site using Updraft Plus if that is any help and my staging area is on a Mac using AMPPS. Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

You will have to disabled and remove Cornerstone in the plugins list if you are using Pro because it will cause an error. Cornerstone is already embedded in Pro so you do not have to separate install it.

Hope this helps.

As I’ve included above, when I update with Cornerstone deactivated the site views as normal and expected. When I try and edit any pages using X I get the message (included in screenshot above) saying ‘Element Missing’. So I cannot edit the site in any way.

Hi Jade thanks for the reply, this is a dev site on my local machine, so I can’t.

Hi There,

Please try removing the Cornerstone folder from wp-content/plugins.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks!

Hi Joao, Thanks for the advice. I tried this earlier and was still having problems with my home page. I tried your advice and deleted the Cornserstone folder. When I tried to edit the home page I was still having the same problems. I then tried some of my other pages and they mostly seemed to be editable, there are a few issues on some of the pages, but nothing I can’t rework. I then went back to the home page and it now looks to be working fine. Thanks again.

Glad to hear it,

Most likely some cache related issue

Cheers!
