Unable to edit certain pages using PRO

Hello, some of our pages can’t edited using pro. Most pages can be, some can’t.

We get this error,

“The preview could not load due to iframe response…”

Please advise.

Thanks for writing in! usually there could be a fatal error in the background. Please go to Pro > Status. Copy the results and then paste it in your next reply. For the meantime, ​we recommend that you increase your memory allocated to PHP. To increase it, please edit your wp-config.php file and insert these lines:

define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M' );

You can add it before the line
/*That's all, stop editing! Happy Blogging. */

Thanks for the details. Your server configuration seems okay. I have check your homepage and I am seeing a JS error generated from this code block:

Hi we think we know what the issue is.

Its the favicon loading really late. Could the theme be conflicted with the old favicon feature?

Hey Jeremy,

The favicon is unlikely to cause the “The preview could not load due to iframe response…” error message. That error means that the page has no content area which is the case for the index or blog page and the rest of the archive pages like category and tag pages.

If you are trying to edit a regular page, another common cause of that error is if you have edited the page with other page builders before.

Regarding the favicon slowing down your site, it is not our theme that is causing it since the Favicon feature is powered by WordPress. See https://wordpress.org/support/article/creating-a-favicon/

If you’re displaying the favicon through other means like a custom function in the child theme, you need to fix the code or hire a developer to fix the code. Also, check the plugins in your site if they have a favicon feature.

If you’re convinced that our theme is causing the issue, please temporarily deactivate all third-party plugins and switch to the parent theme and give us the following details in a Secure Note

  • URL of the page you’re editing
  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password
  • FTP access
