Uh oh! No suitable preview area found when using Renew stack

Hi there,

I’m having some trouble when editing a site with Cornerstone.
The error message

“Uh oh! No suitable preview area found. This could happen when a third party plugin is overrinding the content area.” appears when trying to edit a site. It used to work in the past and I didn’t change any settings. When changing to another stack I’m able to edit the page in preview mode.

Any ideas what’s wrong?

Hello Chris,

Thanks for writing in.

Please try out following solution and let us know the outcome:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list here. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. Click here for more information.
  2. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.
  3. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
  4. Remove custom CSS and Javascript from the options or Child Theme and test the case.
  5. Reset your htaccess file by renaming it to .htaccess-bak. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button.
  6. Increase the PHP Memory Limit of your server. Click here for more detailed information and how to increase the PHP memory limit.

If you still have problems kindly get back to us with the result of the steps above and URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case.

Thank you.

just figured out, that a plugin for a contact form caused the problem. It used to work fine all the time, so I know what the problem is and what to do.

Thank you.

Hi again,

You can simply deactivate and remove the problematic plugin and check for an alternative solution or a plugin that works.

Hope this helps!
