Translate headline and entry featured image in blog post with WPML

Hi rockstars!

I don’t get the option in WPML translation manager to translate Cornerstone headlines nor blog entry featured image. Please look at this post in English. I would like my headlines styled as the Swedish version. I have an Englsih version of the entry featured image but I can’t put in the link anywhere in the translation manager.

Please advice.

Hello There,

Thanks for posting in!

To resolve your featured image translation issue, please check this out:

And to resolve your headlines, I am assuming that you are referring to the sidebar (http://prntscr.com/iukcch), you will have to translate the widgets as well. Please check this out:

Hope this helps.

Hi @RueNel!

FEATURED IMAGE
Thank you for those great links on WPML Media. I hadn’t realised that I just had to uncheck the box for duplicate featured media. Solved! Perfect!

SUB HEADLINES
No, i didn’t mean the sidebar widgets actually. I need to fix those too but the more urgent problem is the sub headlines in the post. I made those in Cornerstone and they have custom settings etc. The problem is that WPML only acknowledge regular bodu copy text - not HEADLINES made with Cornerstone. There’s simply no headline to to translate in WPML Translation Manager, so I’m forced to add it manually to the English box. That way I get a headline but it is styled and tagged incorrctly. Please see attached images.

How do I bring the style and correct tags etc from my Swedish headlines to the English headlines?

Hello There,

How did you translated the pages built in Cornerstone? You will have to duplicate it or find the flag icon in Cornerstone to be able to edit both the English and other language translation of the page. For more details, please check this out:

Hope this helps.

Hi @RueNel!

Yes, I translated the site exactly like how it’s described in your link https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/xtheme/.

The problem seems pretty clear to me as the HEADLINE element is not yet made translatable with WPML Translation Manager. Please see the attached image of the elements that are made translatable. Only FEATURE HEADLINE is translatable now.

Since I’m most likely not the only user who would like to translate the HEADLINE elements, could you please add it to the wpml-config.xml file and send it to WPML so that they can include it with the next update, as described here: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/maintaining-the-cornerstone-page-builder-x-theme-compatibility-with-wpml/?

Hello There,

I will forward this concern to our developers so that the wpml-config.xml file will be updated.

Thank you for your understanding.
