Sticky header jumping / flickering because of "smooth scroll" plugin

Hello, I’ve created a custom sticky header. When I use the “smooth scroll” plugin provided by Themeco the header jumps/flickers when it “sticks” as I scroll down the page.

I’d like to be able to use the plugin, but that’s a deal-breaker.

Would appreciate to know if there’s a way to fix it. Thanks.

Hey @oriol,

I checked all publicly available sites registered on your licenses page and none of them exhibit the issue you described. Would you mind sharing the URL where we could see the issue?

For now, if you’re using Pro custom header, check the Sticky Shrink Amount is not set to 0.

And, also test for the following steps to help isolate where the issue is coming from.

  1. Testing For Plugin Conflict
  2. Theme Update
  3. Child Theme
  4. Css/Js Customization
  5. Version Compatibility

If the Shrink Amount is not 0 and none of the steps above helps, please give us the following info in a Secure Note.

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin username and password

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts.

Thanks.

Shrink amount is set to 1, and the bar size is set to 100px. As far as I can tell the only thing that is causing the issue is the Smooth scroll plugin. With all settings equal it jumps when it’s active and doesn’t when it’s deactivated.

Hello @Oriol,

There seems to be a conflict with the Sticky bar and the Smooth Scroll plugin. This has already been added to our issue tracker and will be looked into by our development team. I cannot make any promises relating to a fix at this stage. I will add a note to the tracker referencing your report though so our dev team can see there are multiple reports of the issue.

Thank you.

Thank you @ruenel! If you could send me an email when (if) the issue is fixed I’d appreciate it, as I’d like to use the plugin as soon as it’s working properly.

Hi Oriol,

When we release an update, we also release a note regarding that update (here), on a Release Note, there is a section called Changelog that is where you see the bugfixes and update done for that specific release.

Thanks,
