Snippet Error

Hello, all of a sudden, Google Webmaster tools sent an error for many of our review pages. For example: https://wetried.it/abc-pant-review/

See attached. Most of the snippets are showing “item does not support reviews” as an error. I read through the documentation for Google’s Snippets and it appears that type “thing” should support a review. But I didn’t see any way to see that changed in the settings, either (to perhaps “product”). Any help would be awesome!

Hey @chiphanna,

We need to check Snippet setup in the backend so please give us the following info in a Secure Note

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password

Hey @chiphanna,

I’m sorry but I can’t replicate the issue. I’ve tested the same setup as your site and I get no error. I also tested your posts in the Structure Data Testing Tool too and they don’t have an error.

Please reach out to Google support why the structured data testing tool returns 0 error while you get an error in the search console.

Christian, thanks for your help! I did a little more digging and discovered that Google updated their Snippet documentation - removing “Review” - and wanting you to rate the item: https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2019/09/making-review-rich-results-more-helpful.html
