RE: Fade effect Column v2 vs v1 missing

Hi Prosters,

THIS POST just closed before I could add to the thread… here was your answer.

This is a nice way to get the use of the Classic Fade Effect back when you can afford to cast the rest of the section that you’re working on back into the stoneage in terms of other functionality (which generally means having to code a lot more than I’d like.)

However, the simple fade effect animation I’m trying to recreate for an accordion in Pro is located in the complex hero section of my homepage with four separate (v2) rows and an underlying BG parallax image.

Since I won’t be doing all the coding necessary to recreate the entire hero build in a Classic (v1) Section:

1. Will you be including the ability to CTRL + add just a Classic (v1) Column (or Classic (v1) Row) in future releases of Pro… or will this backwards compatibility only apply to entire sections?

or

2. Will you be restoring the Fade Effect feature to v2 Columns and/or Rows in future releases of Pro?

or

3. Do you know another way to do this simple slide to the left animation (offset: 200px / duration: 3000ms) in a v2 Column?

Hi @ajonesx,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Presently, the new Column does not have a fade option like the previous generation. We didn’t include it because it would conflict with an upcoming feature we’re investigating that would add transition state controls to all V2 elements. For example, instead of an entire column, you could fade just a button. Or maybe you want to animate in an entire row? This will most likely be a new set of controls under the “Customize” tab of V2 elements.

This only applies to the classic sections.

Yes as already mentioned this is an upcoming feature however we don’t have an ETA yet but we’re investigating the possibilities.

Regretfully there is no work around in V2 elements for now, this can be achieved with classic sections.

Thanks for your reply. I subsequently found the same answer regarding the possible restoration of the fade effect (or a similar work around) in future releases on THIS POST dated almost a year ago last October.

Which raises the question… if the fade effect was important enough to include in the v1 releases which had a much shorter list of available parameters, why is it taking so long to restore this simple (yet elegant) way of performing simple animations on elements to help wake up static looking page loads and attract the user’s eye?

Please ask the gang upstairs about this because it seems like it should have been addressed by now.

(PS - Otherwise, thanks for your support and I’m really enjoying using Pro lol!)

Our developers are well aware of the Effects on V2 elements and they are already making a progress to make it happen soon enough. We don’t have an estimated time when it will be finished but it’s rest assured that there will be a new Effect on V2 elements.
