Problems loading Cornerstone after update

Can’t get cornerstone to load. Turned off plugins, cleared caches, switched themes. Still won’t load. Can you help?

Thanks!

Hi @AGIdesign,

Thanks for reaching out.
It might be due to the improper update of the Cornerstone plugin. I would also suggest you follow the below steps while updating to the latest version of the Cornerstone.

  1. Delete the Cornerstone existing one
  2. After deletion please use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone.

If that does not resolve the issue, I would suggest you troubleshot a few common issues on this.

1.Plugin Conflict
2.Theme Update related issue
3.CSS/JS Customization
4.Disabling Cache

If you discover that an issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
If none of the above helps and you are still getting the issue, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

Hi Eric,

I suspect that this is a browser issue on your end because I was able to load the cornerstone and edit it without any issue. I suggest that you clear your browser cache or use incognito mode.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

I also cannot load the cornerstone editor. I’ve cleared my cache, used my phone to connect via mobile data, used a different internet browser, deleted and installed cornerstone. This is a fresh install so no plugins installed yet…

I will add, I was using it earlier just fine…

Hi @TragicWarrior,

The issue has something to do with your end because I was able to load the cornerstone and edit the website. I suggest that you try to access your website on a different laptop or desktop. See the videos in the secure note.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

I have tried accessing it onn different laptops and different browsers and different connections to the internet

this is the error coming across on the page

I am having the same issue, any solution?

Hi @mattcaldwell,

It might be a problem with improper update of the Pro, I would suggest you deactivate and delete Pro and reinstall it by downloading from your Theme Account and check if that issue exists or not.
If that does not help, there might be some different reasons behind your issue. I would like to suggest troubleshoot the following common issue to help us to recognize the reason.

1.Plugin Conflict
2.Theme Update related issue
3.Child Theme Related issue ** if you have activated it
4.CSS/JS Customization
5.Disabling Cache

If you discover that an issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
If none of the above helps and you are still getting the issue, please create a separate thread and provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

Thanks

Thanks for the suggestions. I sorted it out and just wanted to post how I resolved the issue for anyone else using Sitegrounds. In the SG optimizer plugin on the site head over to the front end optimization tab and toggle off Minify Javascript files. This minification is what is stopping the editor from loading. Hope this helps others!

Hello @mattcaldwell,

Glad to know that things are well for you. Please feel free to open a new thread if you have any more concerns.
