Pro on staging broke after copying site to live

I am utilizing the staging environment with a single license purchase. The license validates on both sites. I first created my site within the staging area, which is a directory within the authorized domain, and once complete I used Duplicator plugin to copy the site from staging to live. After doing the migration I went back to Pro in the staging area and get an “OOPS!” “The page you are looking for is no longer here, …”. I go to Pro in the live site and everything works fine.

I get the OOPS message when clicking any Pro menu item below Settings.

Why am I not able to use Pro in staging anymore?

Hi Charles,

Thank you for writing in, this seems to be a hosting-related issue, please follow the advice provided here.

Hope it helps,
Cheers!

Hi @friech,
Thank you for a quick response. I determined what caused the problem. Just before using Duplicator I tried the WP Staging plugin and had created a “live” site through WP Staging and it looks like that messed up the Pro installation. Therefore, can I reinstall Pro overtop of the current Pro installation?

Hi Charles,

We strongly suggest that you contact your hosting service provider and ask for a backup before the usage of the plugin which caused the issue. That is the best way to make sure that you will not lose any data or functionality.

Regarding your question. Yes it is possible to do so and you need to follow the same steps you would do if you wanted to update the theme manually:

Thank you.
