The new update has caused a couple of sites to go blank. When we edit it with cornerstone, all the content is there but the front end of the site shows blank. I deactivated all the plugins, cleared cache and still nothing works. Do you have any idea what is going on?
This is one of the sites: https://cloud9charities.org/
Hi Suzanne,
Sorry that you’re having this issue, it seems a regressions issue, I’ve submitted this to our issue tracker so the developers will be made aware of it.
A safe thing to do for now on your case is to revert to the previous version X 8.3.3 and Cornerstone 5.3.3, so the page will not look empty.
Thank you for understanding,
I have the same isue. How do I revert back to the previous versions?
Hi @discohappy,
Thank you for reaching out to us. You can download the stable version from your Themeco Account dashboard (https://theme.co/account/dashboard) and install in manually (https://theme.co/docs/how-to-update#how-to-perform-a-manual-update) or you can restore the previous backup if you have any.
Hope this helps!
Hi team, I just reverted back to 8.3.3 following the manual update steps you provided but pages are still only showing the header (nav bar) and footer, no other elements.
The site I’m referring to is https://www.gullcottagesthelens.com.au
Thanks.
Hey Staff.
Same issue. Reverted and still the same.
This is getting kind of urgent with people applying for community grants.
Blank content area, nothing in the HTML inspector.
Thanks.
Hi @auroratech,
I’ve just checked that page, and I can see its content:
Please revert the Cornerstone to 5.3.3 as well. You can deactivate and delete Cornerstone 6.0.1, a prompt will show on top of your admin area to reinstall Cornerstone, follow that and it will reinstall Cornerstone 5.3.3.
Remember to clear all your caching features after.
Cheers,
OK, you need to install the old Cornerstone plugin too. Then the site came back:
framework/cornerstone.zip
OK, thanks. Done and that worked. Bad release, guys! I don’t envy the messages you’re going to get.
Cheers.
Hi @friech,
Yes that’s because I restored an UpdraftPlus backup of the site from the beginning of July - thankfully no major changes since then. Support reps at SiteGround believe Cornerstone isn’t publishing content to the front end.
Hi @auroratech,
Glad to know that you are able to restore the site from your backup. My colleague has already reported the issue to the issue tracker for further investigation by our development team.
Thanks
Hi
Just to say the same has happened for me on several of my pages (e.g. https://www.relaxedmindtherapy.co.uk/about-2/) so doesn’t seem to be an isolated issue - I won’t have access to my main pc to revert back to previous version for a week or so so I’m really hoping this is resolved with a new update soon!
Thanks
Mimi
Similar issue. I used SiteGround to restore backup. For those having an issue restoring their former website. I had to first uninstall Wordpress and then restore my backup on SiteGround. Otherwise even the restore, if I just restored the backup on SiteGround resulted in a critical error, and was unable to access wp-admin.
Hi Mimi,
The issue has been already reported by my colleague for further investigation by our development team.
Hi @JK2013,
Thanks for the information. It really helps others who are having such issues.
Thanks
Hi everyone,
We’ve corrected this issue for the next release which will be going live shortly.
