Navigation Submenu not Appearing on Hover

When I’m in Safari, Firefox, or Edge submenus do not appear on hover when hovering over parent navigation items. I’ve tested this on both a Mac and a Windows computer. Neither have touch screen functionality.

I’ve also put together a test site using a duplication of the live site. Deactivating all plugins, clearing the Style Cache, clearing my browser’s cache, and clearing Autoptimize’s cache did not fix the issue.

My website is https://www.pizzerialocale.com

Hey @santosfel5,

Looks like a third-party plugin is causing the issue. Particularly check Autoptimize. Please disable it or ask the plugin support to configure correctly.

Thanks.

I deactivated the Autoptimize plugin and did a cache flush on the site and the issue is still persisting on Safari, Firefox, & Edge.

If I switch to a default theme, then the drop downs will work with or without Autoptimize plugin active.

Hi @santosfel5,

There is a known issue related to this, but it’s intermittent and I like to confirm if our recent fix, fixes it. Would you mind editing your file wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/assets/dist/js/site/cs.2f77946.js and replace its content with the one from here https://www.dropbox.com/s/m9goxo282d9s480/cs.2f77946.js?dl=0?

If that doesn’t fix the issue then please provide your site’s FTP login credentials in the secure note. We’ll check and test it

Thanks!

Hi @rad

I replaced the content, but it did not fix the drop-down menu issue on Firefox and Safari. What it produced was an issue with some background images/videos not being visible.

I reverted back to the original cs.2f77946.js

Hi @santosfel5,

Thank you for updating us. Please share credentials inside a secure note for further investigation.

@lely I just sent you user access to their dev site. It’s an exact duplicate of the live site. Once we figure out what the issue is, we can push those same changes to the live site.

Thank you!

Hello @santosfel5,

Please be advised that we have released X 7.2.2 and Cornerstone 4.2.2. It is now available in automatic updates. You can now update to this latest version. This latest release contains fixes for several issues including the Submenu issue so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Thank you! That fixed the issue.

Great! We’re glad that the issue is fixed for you.
