Navigation Collapsed - doesn't work on certain iPads

Hi - I’ve been trying to pin this one down by researching older post on the forum, but I can’t seem to find a definitive answer.

Basically, I think the Navigation Collapsed element doesn’t work on iPads below a certain age (around 2018 and down). Is this a known issue? If so, I wondered if there was a workaround as I use this element on most of the sites I build, and this is a bit of a problem as I’ve tested it on my other recent sites and the exact same thing happens - no sub-menu (off canvas) appears.

I’ve tried this via BrowserStack and a physical device and the result is the same.

edit - I’m going to add some more info:

Both sites use a similar setup (Pro with header builder) , and if I try on any iPads older than 2019 there’s no result when I tap the menu icon in portrait mode. Even if I tap it twice - nothing.

Second edit - I’ve completed quite a bit of testing in BrowserStack and it looks like it’s roughly iOS 12 and down that has the issues. iOS 13+ seems to be fine.

Hey @geoffmartyn,

Thank you for your input about which versions of iOS the issue is happening on. I have replicated what you’ve described. However, our official browser support is the same as WordPress. We only support the last 2 versions of iOS so iOS 12 is no longer supported.

I’ll post this in our issue tracker so this will be queued to be investigated by our development team. But, please note that we cannot guarantee a fix so for now and even in the future, if you support old OS and browser versions, you need to look for an alternative to the Off Canvas element or any element for that matter.

Thank you for understanding.
