Make a button to trigger a shortcode?

Hi,
I am trying to link the button on my landing page to an email optin popup.
I noticed I can have this optin triggered with a shortcode.
However, how to set it up? I am pretty bad at coding.

Thanks for writing in.

It depends on what kind of button and which popup, the shortcode is only good if you can apply it directly, but if it’s a remote button then it will require a jQuery. If it’s ConvertPlus popup, then you can simply use the class trigger (button’s class). https://www.convertplug.com/plus/triggers/

Example, let’s say your button is <button class="this-is-trigger">Click</button> then you can simply add this-is-trigger to your ConvertPlus popup trigger.
