Is there a way to make the logo for site higher quality?

I am curious if there is there a way to make the logo for site higher quality? What I mean is that the current logo is 342x70 and it looks OK if you are browsing the webpage at 100% in your displays native (or recommended) aspect ratio. However if you bump the percentage or lower the aspect ratio below the recommended which often times computer users do, the logo looks a bit scrappy and low quality. I tried to upload the image at 503x100 but it is too large so I lowered it on the site (not the file itself) to 342x70 but then the file looked to small on the site. Am I missing something, a tweak or someway to have a larger actual image shrunk to right size but when display or browser is bumped up it still looks sharp. Not sure if any of this is making sense but the logo needs to be Great on any website browser as it is so crucial. Any ideas how to remedy? Thank you kindly in advance. BTW not sure how to upload files to this post to give anyone those images described.

Hey @galatia,

If 342x70 is your target display size, your actual image size must be double than that and then you must set the logo width.

Also, the advantage of setting the Logo Width is you can adjust it. If you leave it blank, you must edit your image in a photo editing software then you need to upload it over again.

Hope that helps.

Does it have to be double? What if it is 503? You see the original image in photoshop was saved@ 503 and it would have to be rebuilt otherwise to get double 342, should I upload 503 and half that for the Logo Width field? Would that help at all? Thx!

Hi There,

Not, really but that is recommended because the X Theme will divide the width you specified on LOGO WIDTH field by 2 (to make your logo retina ready).

So if you need your logo to be output as 342px, then you need to set the LOGO WIDTH field at 684. But that sounds odd right because your image is only 503px? So that is why you need to double it.

You can upload a much larger image (1200px), that way the logo will not look blurry when viewed on a very wide screens.

Thanks,

Would it look sharper better if I took the 503 image and just increased (image size) in photoshop up to 684, not rebuilding it and then uploaded it as you suggest?

Hi There,

Yeah since you’re not enlarging the image size that much, that might work. See the enlargement options you have (in Photoshop),to retain the image quality/detail as possible.

Thanks,
