Group single licences into the Unlimited model

Hello there.

By the time I’m already running a bunch of singular licences. Is it possible to group all licences under the unlimited subscription model?

Do I need to cancel the singular licences first? Or do I need to purchase the unlimited first and then validate the singular under the unlimited and “loose” the remaining period (and investment) of the singular licences?

I’d be grateful for any info.
Cheers

Hey @VRANKOVINA,

Single License is not transferable so for your case, you would need

  1. to purchase the Unlimited license
  2. register all of your sites under the unlimited license
  3. cancel the single licences

and loose investment?
Otherway: It is kinda complicated to evaluate the status of the licences. Some are labeled as “expired” but still receive updates?
I have a big plea: could you take a look at the jungle and tell me how much I’d loose if I proceed with your advice?
Can I turn off the automatic renewals, so I can have a clear picture?
Thx a heap.

Yes, you will still receive product updates.

I’m sorry I’m not sure what you mean by this. Please elaborate and explain in simple terms.

You can cancel automatic renewals or subscriptions by following the steps here Cancel One Subscription

Ok. I have a couple licences. Some of them are single packs some of them have 2 licenses included. I really can not say which will expire in the close future.

If I could see the remaining time I could decided to port all under the unlimited model without loosing too much of the remaining yet paid subscription time.

OH ok, I got it. It’s under the subscriptions “paid through”… So I canceled them both. There was a considerable time remaining, so hmmmm I’m not sure about the ultimate model yet.

how can I remove an “expired” license connection to a site? Pls check the “1000and1” domain connections… One is expired - here I can’t do anything, the second I had 1 free license as backup, so I quickly used this one for the expired instead.

Hey @VRANKOVINA,

I see you cancelled all your subscriptions. In order to detach the domain from a license, just click the domain in your Dashboard and click the Edit / Pencil icon in the LOCATION field. Enter your new domain and click the SAVE / CHECK icon.

Yep, I know I could do it this way. But as soon as it is expired I can’t. It just says “expired” and the rest is blank. but the connection is still visible in the left column - see “1000and1”.

And yes I canceled them, because I would like to bundle them under the unlimited package. You still did not tell me what happens with the remaining budget when my subscriptions run till Jan or March 2027. Will this be considered in the price for the unlimited subscription? Or will I loose it? 6 - 7?

Hello Ondrej,

Here’s what happens when you cancel a license subscription:

  • The license stays valid until its expiration date.
  • Canceled or expired licenses remain in your account but won’t be accessible unless you renew them.
  • They cannot be applied as credit toward a new license or an Unlimited license subscription.

A quick recommendation: If the license is for a client, it’s best to use a single license per client. Also, please remember that the Pro Unlimited license is not transferable.

Thanks.

Hi ruenel.
The point is, with the Unlimited license model I have a cleaner and way simpler accounting here, regardless of 100% refund by the client. And splitting costs makes my offer more attractive. If the client wants to own the license, it’s up to him. I don’t need to care about it.

Hello Ondrej,

You can purchase the Pro Unlimited license.

For sites that have already expired licenses, you can revoke and revalidate them with the new Pro Unlimited license.

Licensed sites that have been canceled can still be used, as the license hasn’t expired yet. Even if the license was already canceled, it will remain valid for its full duration.

Cheers.
