Essential Grid with instagram feed does no longer work

Hi there,

i have implemented an Essential Grid with Instagram feed implemented on my website.
Everything was working perfect until i did set the count to 120 two days ago because the number of my posts exceeded 100.
From now on nothing shows anymore except this message: Instagram reports: Please check the settings. I tried with different count settings, does´nt help.

Do you have an idea what might be wrong?

Thanks for your support!

Hi Bernhard,

Thanks for reaching out.

Started from 2018, the Instagram now limits it to 9-12. And by doing so more than that, perhaps your authorization to their API server (permission) might also been revoked. Please try setting it to 9 up to 12. You may also check this The Grid - instagram missing images.

Thanks!

Hi Rad,
thanks for your answer. I tried with all counts between 9 and 12, that does not help. Also checked the Grid topic, but this is only about the Grid, not the Essential Grid.
Strange thing is that everything worked until 3 days ago.
So, i wonder what to do. I checked instagram for an API, but it´s almost impossible get information whether this API is valid or not, and if so, how to get a new one…

Maybe there is another bug somewhere?

Thanks,
Bernhard

Hey Bernhard,

You will need to contact Instagram support to learn how to access or get their API.

With regards to bugs, there were Instagram issues that were already fixed according to Essential Grid’s Changelog here: https://codecanyon.net/item/essential-grid-wordpress-plugin/7563340. Please ensure that everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list at https://theme.co/docs/version-compatibility. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. See https://theme.co/docs/how-to-update for more details.

If the issue persists, please do all the troubleshooting procedures mentioned in our Common Issues article.

Only if none of that helps, please provide the following info in a Secure Note.

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password
  • Instagram access
  • FTP access

Please just note that the purpose of accessing your site is to only check your setup so we could report your case to the Essential Grid developers. We do not guarantee an immediate fix to the issue because we do not have control over 3rd party plugins.

Thanks.

Hey Bernhard,

We now received other similar reports about this Instagram issue and the Essential Grid so you’re right, this could be a new bug with the Essential Grid plugin or there are changes in Instagram API. I’ll post this in our issue tracker so this will be queued to be reported to the Essential Grid developers.
