I was wondering if there is a way to show an excerpt of a specific ID or class or if I can hide the content before a specific character? So I am not using or creating a blog, because they dont post very often. So I am using a looper to show the Title and Date and want to show the excerpt, that will link to a child page. So the problem I am having is the excerpt is pulling all content from the page. Is there a solution for this problem.
The copy highlighted in yellow is the content I dont want to repeat.
Hello @lorchme,
Thanks for writing in!
You can set up the number of words to display on the excerpt. Simply go to Pro > Theme Options > Blog > Excerpt Length and set it to at least 60
or less.
If you want, you can also set a manual excerpt. Excerpts are optional hand-crafted summaries of your content that can be used in your theme. Learn more about manual excerpts.
Best Regards.
Sorry, I didn’t want to just shorten it I want to remove the first part of it. I see you said there is a manual option, but I don’t see an option on the page to enter a manual excerpt. Do I need a plugin to allow me to do this?
Hey @lorchme,
The excerpt is taken from the first 55 (or more) words from your content. For pages, it does not have manual excerpts by default. You may need to check this old thread to be able to have manual excerpts for your pages:
Best Regards.
