I’ve recently had some better luck using the plugin Speed Booster Pack and activating it’s “Defer parsing of javascript files” option. Plugin link and a couple of other options are here
Doing this gave me a 100% Defer parsing of JavaScript from GTmetrix on my site
Testing to make sure nothing is broken.
