Customize content fonts

Hi,

What is the best/recommended approach to customizing fonts for “the content”? I’m creating a Single Layout for specific posts, and I use the The Content element in Cornerstone to include the post content. I’ve noticed the headers inside the content (even when not using this Single Layout) are just too big.

(I don’t write posts in Cornerstone, I write them using the default Wordpress editor, I don’t set custom fonts inside the post itself)

The following are my Global Typography settings:

I’m using Content Font Size: 1.3rem which renders the non-header text nicely, I like the size of it. But the headers are too large, and I can’t find a way inside the Global Theme Options to configure individual font sizes. The only setting is the Letter Spacing.

The only way I’ve seen I can customize these fonts is through the Theme Customizer, using custom CSS:

Why is there no way of customizing this in the Global Theme Options? Is custom CSS the only way? Is this the recommended way?

Hey Kevin,

Thanks for the very detailed post information. Please keep in mind that the content created with the default WP Editor will use the Theme Options Typography settings.

The Body and Content for the paragraph, while the Headings will be for the headlines and subheadlines. If you want to change the font sizes of the headings (h1, h2,…, h6), you may need a custom CSS for that. Perhaps these old threads can help:

Hope this helps.
