Constantly Blurred Featured Images? (Sometimes also in the body)

Hey Viliam,

Please see the screenshot below.

Is that the image you’re referring to as high quality? It’s just 1201 x 766 px. High quality starts from Full HD size and it’s 1920 x 1080px. And, as I’ve said,

Our theme can do nothing about that. It’s the browser’s display and it’s the same regardless of the theme. There’s no way to make it sharp. That is why I said:

You can do that by choosing the Fullwidth Content Layout or increasing the Site Max Width, Site Width and Content Max Width

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a tip, you will want to use PNG image format for interface screenshots. See why here: https://www.diffen.com/difference/JPEG_vs_PNG

You might also want to increase your image’s contrast in an image editor like Photoshop.

So that the browser will display your image as it is and not perform scaling on desktop, you might want to upload the exact resolution that you need as long as it’s lower than the Content Width.

Thank you for understanding.

Yeah, great tips thanks!

Anyway, I use JPEG mainly because of the size, so how to optimize these pictures to keep it as PNG but also to have size like JPEG?

Is Shortpixel / imagify / smush enough to optimize PNG ? Or is there some better solution?

Finally, I know a bit more about these micro things, I also recently noticed that Shortpixel use to really decrease the quality of the pictures, especially my GIFs that are totally damaged… like there are 3 types of compression but that one they recommends actually broke some pictures on my site… that was also reason why I was confused…

Thanks again, good Xmass to everyone & happy NY

Hello Viliam,

The image optimizing plugins will only optimize the images by cropping or change the sizes and quality. It cannot change from PNG to JPEG. You just need to upload a PNG if necessary and as big as possible that you can upload it.

Regards.

well it’s possible to convert from png to jpeg with shortpixel, and cool, will use the PNGs for some time

Cool, thanks for that information.

Happy holidays,
Cheers!
