Child theme with wrong name

Hi @Rad,

Sorry but now it’s not clear for me anymore.

I did 3 things and after my sidebars were gone.

1. Replaced the top part code in my child style.css with:

Theme Name: Pro – Child Theme
Theme URI: http://theme.co/pro/
Author: Themeco
Author URI: http://theme.co/
Description: Make all of your modifications to Pro in this child theme.
Version: 1.0.0
Template: pro

2. Renamed folder:
/wp-content/themes/x-child
to
/wp-content/themes/pro-child

3. Replaced screenshot.jpg with a picture of Pro Child

My question now is if I undo only step 1 will my sidebars be back as before?

Hello @smart_x,

My question now is if I undo only step 1 will my sidebars be back as before?

  • I would recommend that you duplicate your child theme and download it to your local computer as a backup. Afterwards, you will need to do #1 and #2 because WordPress will take note of the parent theme and the folder name of the theme. Once you have done that, you can download the XCS file in the Theme Options Manager. You can use this file later on when you go back to renaming your #1 and #2 again.

Hope this helps explain it briefly.
