Can only edit home page

Created one page using ethos and all is fine. Went to edit another page, portfolio, and it says a plug in may be blocking the content page. No suitable preview area found. I was able to add a page and add a section, but none of the other areas can be selected. I tried four different browsers, turning off all add ins. Still no luck. Since I still can edit the home page, I do not think it is a cache or php limits issue. What am I missing?

Hi @imsoco,

Thank you for writing in, please do the following:

  • Clear all the site caches (plugin, server-side, CDN, and browser’s cache) so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors. Please deactivate this caching features while we tackle this issue.

  • Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

  • Try removing the Map element that is on your homepage.

If nothing works, please provide us login credentials in a secure note so we can take a closer look.

Cheers!

I deleted the map link, but I could not find how to change the php memory limit or delete server caches. I have a call into godaddy but it is a long wait. Even if I create a new page, when I go to edit with cornerstone, it gives me a blog page I cannot edit.

It appears it is only the ethos theme pages cannot be edited, except for the home page. What exactly am I allowed access to with my purchaser of this theme?

Hello @imsoco,

Is the site in questioned, the one I posted in the secure note? If that is the case, please be aware that you can only edit the Home, About and Publications page. You cannot edit the Portfolio page because it will just give you an error: No suitable preview area found. This is also the error when you will edit your Posts Page or blog index and any archive pages.

You can only edit normal pages. Any page that uses Layout- Portfolio page template, the blog index or archive pages cannot be edited because these pages will display contents dynamically.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, that is the issue I am having. How do I fill the images for the portfolio?

I found some editing available through WP. I thought it was part of the x theme.

Hi @imsoco,

Please edit each of your Portfolio Posts and assign a featured image on it.

This images will be the cover of your Portfolio posts in the Portfolio index page.

Regarding changing from http to https, please ask your hosting first how you can install SSL to your site. Then follow the guide here for migrating to https.

Hope it helps,
Cheers!
