After searching the support forms I still don’t understand how to resolve this issue. The icons on the dropdown are broken.

The menu icons are Font Awesome icons and there are several factors that could cause Font Awesome loading issues. Please read the factors and solutions here: https://theme.co/docs/font-awesome-icon-issues
Not mentioned in our article is the Font Awesome options in Theme Options > Miscellaneous. Enable what you need.
Only if none of that helps, give us WordPress Admin in a Secure Note.
