Blog post images are not loading since update. Any ideas?
Hello Chris,
Thanks for posting in!
It seems that you have a caching problem. Your images do not display because it turns out that you are using Jetpack and Site Accelerator (or Photon module) is enabled. This module will cached all your images and sometimes it has some problems loading the images. One of the limitations of this module:
No cache invalidations – currently the images are cached “forever”. If you want to “refresh” an image you will need to change the name of the image. Adding random query arguments, commonly known as cachebusters, will not work.
For further information, you can check it here: https://jetpack.com/support/site-accelerator/
For the time being, please disable Site Accelerator module and test your site again.
Hi! Thanks for the help… disabling resolved the issue.
I am also having an issue with image sizes with the blog. Can you let me know where to control the thumbnail images for blog posts? I create an image for the post and it gets cropped badly on thumbnails. If you can guide me on what the ideal image size for post and if I can specify thumbnail images?
Thanks
Hi Chris,
Use similar resolution images as your featured image, so that your thumbnails also will be resized in a similar way. For example, check the following images on our Agency demo blog here (http://demo.theme.co/agency/news/).
Image examples
http://demo.theme.co/agency/wp-content/uploads/sites/64/2015/08/featured-news-05.jpg
http://demo.theme.co/agency/wp-content/uploads/sites/64/2015/08/featured-news-06.jpg
http://demo.theme.co/agency/wp-content/uploads/sites/64/2015/08/featured-news-04.jpg
http://demo.theme.co/agency/wp-content/uploads/sites/64/2015/08/featured-news-02.jpg
So basically all the images used there is, 1200px width and 800px height.
You can use a resize tool or a software like Photoshop to make your images before uploading.
Hope that helps.
