I’d prefer to include a YouTube-hosted background video, because hosting the video on my website results in a minimum file size of 22 MB, causing longer site loading times and negatively impacting my core web vitals. Any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You could try using the background custom section option and then paste your youtube embedded code.

When using a 3rd party embed code, you do not have any control over the video. This is why it is recommended to use a self-hosted video when you want to display background video in your Section element.
