Hi There,
I just went to download some of the demo content, and got the following warning. “Your Connection is not private. Attackers might be trying to steal your information from updates.theme.co (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).”If I click on the Advanced button, I see the following, “This server could not prove that it is updates.theme.co; its security certificate is from *.s3.amazonaws.com. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection.
Then I see a link that says, “Proceed to updates.theme.co (unsafe)”
I also see this: NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID
Any idea what’s going on?
From the sounds of it, the problem is on your end.
Thanks very much
Nancy
December 9, 2014 at 3:01 pm #161391I’m getting the same exact issue in Firefox, with:
updates.theme.co uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is only valid for the following names: *.s3.amazonaws.com, s3.amazonaws.com
(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)December 10, 2014 at 3:49 am #161687Hey There,
This is happening because we use a subdomain that is forwarding to amazon aws services. Firefox tries to find cloaked/hidden urls and warns users when this happens at untrusted sources. Our service is 100% secure and can be trusted so you can disregard this message. It only tells you that updates.theme.co resolves to *s3.amazonaws.com which is finde since we host our update files on amazon aws. Sorry for the confusion and we will look into ways to prevent this message in the future.

December 10, 2014 at 3:27 pm #162196Hey there,
Quick update, we’ve made some changes here to prevent that message from appearing in the future. Sorry about the inconvenience. We can still assure you that our service is 100% secure.
