    Hi there

On every page when using the YOAST plugin i get the following message:

The focus keyword doesn’t appear in the first paragraph of the copy. Make sure the topic is clear immediately.

This is despite the fact that I do actually use the keyword in the H1 at the beginning of the page.

Do you know why I get this message?

    Hey there,

h1 is not a paragraph. Do you have your keyword in the first paragraph? Yoast SEO works on my test site and I tested the first paragraph. It sounds like you might be having an issue with a third party plugin or script. Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Hi there

I know H1 is not a paragraph. What I was trying to say is that I have the key word in H1 and the H1 is at the beginning of the page so I assume its the first paragraph.

Could you just check if you see any third party plugin creating that issue? I am not aware of any plugin that should be on top of the page. The only plugin I used at the top of the page is slider rev but thats only on the home page. So I assume there might be something else causing that issue

    Hey Bak,

As previously said, please ensure that your keyword is in the first paragraph. h1 is not is not the first paragraph. A paragraph is enclosed in a <p> tag.

To test for plugin conflict, please deactivate all third party plugins and check if the issue persists. Ensure that your keyword is in the first paragraph first.

    Thanks.
