Vy NameParticipantHi
I am working on a website for a not-for-profit organization (http://rsvk.in) RSVK Trust, India. I purchased a x-theme license last year for them, but due to their poor funds availability, they could not commission the web project right away. It is on now. They run several not-for-profit schools and charity programs across India and each program needs visibility separately (hence sub-domains). The schools they run for the economically weaker sections, particularly, require sub-domains micro-sites (or new domains) as per School Board directives. They surely can’t afford separate web domains for their 4 schools.I see from various posts in this Forum that says X-license works on sub-domains – but lately, the replies suggest that it ONLY works on sub-folders and not on sub-domains.
I am not sure if I can find my own question on this forum from the past, where I got the clarification that so long as it is on the same domain, it would not require new licenses. And, based on my own understanding, I have communicated this to the organization. Now, the reality is different and I feel very awkward to go back to them, knowing they don’t have the budget for the many licenses for the few sub-domains they will require.
Is there a way out of this please? There’s a genuine case here of the micro-sites belonging to the same organization and from the same domain. It would be great if Themeco would consider this case in context. I am myself working on this project on-gratis without a fee.
Grateful if you could help.
Best wishes

Rue NelModeratorHello Vy,
Thanks for writing in!
X license will always work in either a sub-domain or sub folder. Can you confirm that you are fully updated? (Theme and Plugins) Our latest versions are:
X Theme: 4.4.2
Cornerstone: 1.2.4You can find the latest version numbers here: (http://theme.co/changelog/) Then you can compare them to what’s installed on your site. If you find anything to be out of date, you can review our update guide.
And please make sure that you validate your site. To do that, please do the following:
1] Please login to your account and assign the license. You need to re assign the license again to your site using this url: https://www.your-domain.com/. You have to make sure that url you just assign is the same as the one you have in your settings, Settings > General > Site Address
2] Go back to X Addons > Home again, and insert the license again. Please review the changes that we made on how you are going to validated your X theme because we made a big change in the process. Please check it out here: https://community.theme.co/kb/product-validation/
Hope this helps.
