    Hello,

While using the X theme, I cannot change my sites favicon. I have seen countless forums posts on here about people who are struggling with X theme not working well with favicons. I have followed your directions to upload my favicon to the Media section in the administrative panel, copy the URL to the file, and then paste that directly into the Site Icon field found here: Appearance -> Customize -> Site Icons -> Favicon. This is the URL I’ve pasted in there: http://worthen.media/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/WM-Logo-512×512.png but it would still show my old favicon logo. I have tried all sorts of file formats thinking it was a file issue, so I did a 16×16 8-bit .ico file and that wouldn’t work, and I’ve tried .pngs and I’ve tried .gifs. I was successfully able to change my website’s favicon by activating a free basic theme called “Eighties” by Justin Kopepasah. With that theme active I was able to go to Appearance -> Customize -> Site Icons -> Favicon and successfully change my Favicon on the fly to whatever I wanted it to be (which is that 512×512.png file). The reason I desire a larger format is because now iOS 10 users who message my site to other people, iOS10 will automatically attempt to unfurl an image and will resort to the favicon. Using this quality of image for the favicon ensures the image to look good when unfurled in a text message.

I don’t know what needs to be done in order for the X theme to support favicon changes, but I cannot change my favicon while using the X theme. My site is: http://worthen.media/

Hopefully you have a solutions to this issue.
    Thanks,
    Cory

    Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! Can you please try utilizing a plugin for that (https://wordpress.org/plugins/favicon-by-realfavicongenerator/).

Let us know how it goes.
    Thanks!
