    Hi there,

My shortcode plugin continually pops up as needing an update, but won’t complete the process when I try to do it.
It says “An error occurred while updating X – Shortcodes: Update package not available.”

Should I reinstall the shortcode plugin? Will that affect the layout of my website at all in the meantime?

    Many thanks,
    B.

    Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! What is the version of X theme that you’re using? You can see the X theme versions and the X shortcode versions here (https://theme.co/x/member/changelog/).

Also you could try uploading the X-Shortcode plugin manually. In the main X Theme folder that you download from Theme Forest, locate the zip files under the Plugins folder (“X/framework/plugins/“). Then Unzip the plugin file “x-shortcodes.zip” and use a FTP Client software (FileZilla Client) to upload it into your server (ROOT/wp-content/plugins/) folder.

Once you have uploaded it into the server, login to your WordPress back-end and head over to the Plugins -> Installed plugins to activate the plugin.

    Hope that helps.

    Hello!

That did help. I updated everything (hadn’t registered my API code), but it destroyed my website formatting (front page in particular).
This is my first website build, and I’m not sure how to fix this.
I thought updating my outdated theme would help, but it sadly just made things worse.

Thanks for all your help btw. It’s pretty great 🙂

    Hi B,

Do you have any caching plugin installed, or caching system like from WPEngine? If yes, then please purge their caches, minified files, and cdn after every update. And it’s also helpful to use private browsing like from chrome’s incognito to ensure that you won’t see the cache version.

If you think it’s related to faulty setup, then would you mind letting me check it?

Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

    – Link to your site
    – WordPress Admin username / password
    – FTP credentials

Don’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

    Cheers!

You’re welcome. Glad it’s working now. It might have been just the cache.

Hi THere, I am having an issue with mobile responsivenessof this theme. I have read that it’s an issue with the x shortcodes but I cannot update the plugin.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, I’ve downloaded X multiple time but none of the archives contain “X Shortcodes” plugin within the framework>plugins folder- only cornerstone.zip and index.php. Is there a way to manually verify that all files that belong in this theme download are present? Now I’m wondering what else I could be missing… appreciate any help! Thanks.

    Hi @raff2145,

From the version 4 of X, you are not necessary to install the X-Shortcodes plugin.

The X-shortcodes is being replaced by Cornerstone.

    Regards!

    Hi there,

You don’t need x shortcodes plugin anymore. Please install cornerstone from X Addons -> Extensions and provide us with more information about the issue.

    Thanks.

Love cornerstone, but a bit frustrated that I spent a few hours searching for and researching why the X Shortcodes plugin is missing from my install (installed May 2016). There are a few pages on your site that need to be updated/deleted, namely…

    http://theme.co/x/
http://theme.co/x/demo/integrity/1/shortcodes/ + the other three stacks
