I have a version of X running on our website which came with WPBakery Visual Composer. I purchased the composer separately to update the plugin to run a cost calculator on the site. Loaded all fine but the composer now needs updating again but I keep getting an error message saying: Update Failed: Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.

Contacted WPBakery support and got the following back form them:
Hi David,

We checked the issue further. The issue is because there is a Visual Composer related code present in your theme added by the theme author. You will have to get rid of it. I would advise you to do so with the help of theme author, otherwise you might loose the extra elements added by him. Once this is done, you can install the standalone plugin and it will work fine. Kindly check.

Hi there,

You should use the integrated version with X. Let’s remove the plugin and install from X Addons menu. You can check the latest version from our Version Compatibility guide.

The issue is that we would like to run with version 5.1 to run the cost calculator and the bundle version only runs 5.0.1 not the upgraded version.

So are you saying that we can’t upgrade the software?

You can test, but we do not offer support for versions above : 5.0.1

As our version compatibility states : Visual Composer: | Latest Supported Version: 5.0.1
