Hi,
We are setting up a wordpress multisite network and have installed the X theme. We plan to use the X theme to create a handful of template websites (no source code modification, just theme customization) that we would then duplicate and use for our paying clients to create their website. Again, we would not be modifying any source code of the theme, just customizing it to our clients needs.
What license would we need, and how many licenses, to be able to support our multisite network?
Does it matter if we are using subdomains vs. subdirectories for our multisite network?
What about if we are allowing our customers to use their own domains with domain mapping? The websites would still be on our multisite network but we would use a plugin to allow for their own domain to show when the site loads.January 2, 2015 at 8:52 pm #175456Hi there,
Thanks for writing in.
One license can be applied in multisite installation as long the other sub site/domain is the same entity as where license is assigned to. In which it promote the same and single site.
In your case, you would need to purchase a unique license for each client as a license is for a single use for one entity and no parts of the one license can be shared or resold or re-used by another party or client.
Thanks!
January 5, 2015 at 11:20 am #176904Is there a discount for buying multiple license? As for example, if we buy 5 or 10 licenses at a time? We expect as time goes on, this will become dozens or even hundreds of licenses.

Since X is sold on Themeforest, we are under their pricing system. With that said, there is no discount.
Thanks.
May 21, 2015 at 10:14 am #278747Can you please clarify this: “One license can be applied in multisite installation as long the other sub site/domain is the same entity as where license is assigned to. In which it promote the same and single site.”
I’m working on a multisite with four subdomains. Each subdomain is part of the same organization, but with different information and covering a different aspect. Currently they are all different themes and designs, but we’re looking to unify the design for better branding and planning to use X for that. Do we need a separate license for each sub-site? I wasn’t sure what you meant by “same entity.” They are all the same organization, so is that the same entity? The client is fine with $60, but I don’t think they’ll be happy if I tell them it will cost them $240.

In regards to sub domain you could check the link below for the answers.

And regards to the discount, we could not verify that kind discount however we’ll forward this thread so they know about that reply and could say about that.
Thanks.

May 22, 2015 at 7:43 pm #279828You’re welcome.
January 22, 2016 at 8:38 am #758986You really need to consider developer licenses. We’d love to use your theme on all projects but $60 per license is too much. I’d rather get 10 licenses for $400 or unlimited for $500 or something like that. It would be more cost effective.
January 22, 2016 at 7:25 pm #759834Hi Mark,
Licensing is controlled by Themeforest and you can check it here http://themeforest.net/licenses/standard
X theme has extended license available too that you could purchase 🙂
Thanks!
