I bought the X Theme, and when trying to install it, the “add new” button wasn’t on the theme page in WP. Reading through the support answers, they say that they do not allow to upload new themes. How does it come? And what can I do?

    Thank you for your support!
    Kind regards,
    Caroline

This KB article will help you get started – http://theme.co/x/member/kb/theme-installation/ The easiest way is to use a method called FTP to move the files over to your server. I hope this helps.

Hello there, thank you for your reply but it didn’t helped me out. I’ve watched this video already and as I said in my previous message I don’t have the function of adding a theme that is not in the WordPress library. I don’t have this “ADD NEW” button in the “APPEARANCE” – “THEMES” window. What is the “FTP” method? They say that the only way to change a theme is with CSS. Again, I don’t know how CSS works. Pleeeeeease help me πŸ™‚ thank you so much!

I don’t believe wordpress.com allows you to install your own themes. You will have to host it on your own domain and hosting this is most likely why you it does not allow you to upload a new theme.

I don’t don’t understand why your product says that it’s the best WordPress theme ever if I cannot upload it into wordpress. Where is the problem? and how can I solve it? I’ve spend money for it πŸ™‚ Thank you

The issue is with your hosting with WordPress.com they are the ones that do not allow for custom themes they only have their library of themes. If you host with another company then you will be able to install the theme. I am sorry for the confusion.

    Hi ckol,

I’m afraid there isn’t much we can do here. WordPress.com is a premium hosting platform built by the makers of WordPress. They curate themes themselves, and don’t allow new theme or plugin installations.

Take a look at this article: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

The vast majority of WordPress sites out there are self hosted, (not wordpress.com) and this is what X is meant to work with. If you want to use X, you’ll need a web hosting account. To make things easier, you could go with a managed host specifically for WordPress. Here are a couple examples:

    http://wpengine.com/
    https://pagely.com/

Envato (ThemeForest) handles all refunds. You can find out more about this here: http://support.envato.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/256/55/can-i-get-a-refund-for-an-item-i-have-purchased

    Take care!

    Hi @missjasdhanda

Thanks for updating the thread. If you can’t increase the upload limit or don’t have the FTP account, you can ask your hosting provider for that. They will provide you those.

    Cheers!
