When I logged into the back end of a client site today there was a warning:
“Your theme (X – Child Theme) contains outdated copies of some WooCommerce template files. These files may need updating to ensure they are compatible with the current version of WooCommerce. You can see which files are affected from the system status page. If in doubt, check with the author of the theme.”
The site is only a couple months old and I’m not even finished loading products yet. Another person on my dev team used a basic woocommerce template for one of the product types, but I would have thought it operates the same as a child theme, as in relying on the parent theme/software to be updated instead of itself?

Actually numbers of updates release in couple of months. Would you let us know the WooCommerce version you are using? You can check our Version Compatibility article for latest compatible version.

I am having the same issue. I have Woo Commerce Version 2.7.0-RC1 and am receiving this error message: Your theme (X) contains outdated copies of some WooCommerce template files. These files may need updating to ensure they are compatible with the current version of WooCommerce.
The files are:
x/woocommerce/cart/cross-sells.php version 1.6.4 is out of date. The core version is 2.7.0,
x/woocommerce/single-product/product-image.php version 2.6.3 is out of date. The core version is 2.7.0,
x/woocommerce/single-product/product-thumbnails.php version 2.6.3 is out of date. The core version is 2.7.0,
x/woocommerce/single-product/related.php version 1.6.4 is out of date. The core version is 2.7.0,Before I begin tinkering on my own, I wanted to contact you at Themeco to see if there is an update or workaround. Thanks in advance for your help!
