Hi, when I change the Product Image on the backend for a product it’s still showing the old product image on the individual product page. It actually does load the new img first, but as soon as the page finishes loading, it automatically flashes back to the old product image.

Please see attached images for examples.

    Hi there,

Please remove green one from gallery, as you have already set it as main image.
If it doesn’t help you could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

let us know how it goes.

I did all that you suggested but the problem is still present. I’m assuming it’s something Javascript related as the correct green image does load first but then get’s replaced by the black. So perhaps the database has both files listed as the default product image and the original data doesn’t get overwritten when updated?

I just tried to use the “Unattach” plugin to unattach the old product image form the page, but that didn’t work either. Problem is still there.

    Hi,

I can’t access your plugins page to check.

Can you provide us your wordpress network admin login.

    Thanks

    Hi there,

It was the image of your default product variation. If you’ll edit your product and go to variations section, you’ll notice that Default Form Values is set to Black and M. It instructs woocommerce to load that variation on page load. How about setting your default variation to Asphalt? Or any variation that has same green color.

    Yes, that’s it! Thank you.

Here’s a sugggestion: I’m not sure if this is an X theme decision, but it’d be great if by default the “Variable product”->”Variations”->”Default Form Values” was set to “No default Color…” That way one just need to edit the “Product Image” to change the main image.

    Thanks again for your help!
