I have a site hosted on WP Engine, and I have theme version 2.5.1 installed, along with the latest version of WooCommerce. I had WP Engine disable any caching for the cart and checkout pages, but every time I add an item to my cart and then “Proceed to Checkout”, it erases my cart and tells me that there is nothing in there!

WP Engine graciously pored over it with me, and told me:

I investigated this issue further and see that everything is set up properly on our end so that WooCommerce makes it through our caching. I was able to narrow the issue down to your theme that is being used on the live site.

It appears that there may be an issue with the theme causing the session to drop and causing the cart to show up empty after adding items to it. You can test this by disabling your current theme and enabling one of the default themes that are included with WordPress like twentyfourteen. You should notice that you can then add items and check out without issues once this is done.

Since this looks to be a coding issue with the theme, we encourage you to check with the theme developer to see if they have any resolution to this problem or if there is anything else that we may be able to do on our end to get the theme working properly with WooCommerce.

The site is being promoted, yet nothing can be bought! Please help!

I also get this error after updating WooCommerce:

Your theme has bundled outdated copies of WooCommerce template files – if you encounter functionality issues on the frontend this could the reason. Ensure you update or remove them (in general we recommend only bundling the template files you actually need to customize). See the system report for full details.
