Hi, I’m using the WooCommerce Brands extension, and I can’t figure out how to define the archive page for brands. I know this is really a question for WC but your support is SO much quicker and better, so I thought I’d give it a shot – feel free to tell me to jog on!
Here’s an example of the archive page I want to customise: https://tonybutterworths.com/brand/ktm/
I’d like it to be more similar to the normal shop/archive pages, i.e. products in 2 columns as defined in the Customizer and my default page layout with main sidebar showing up… as you can see, this is showing up but with nothing in it:
<aside class="x-sidebar right" role="complementary"> </aside>
Any ideas?
Many thanks in advance!

Thank you for the credentials.
I did test same setup on my test site and the default sidebar is showing. See this:http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cbn3hC6bQg This means there might be some plugin or customization that is preventing the sidebar to show. You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time. If that doesn’t work, try removing any customization you have added. Please note to backup your site before doing this.February 22, 2017 at 2:12 am #1380984Hi Lely,
Thank you very much for your help and for the screencast, I really appreciate it.
I have now tried:
– deactivating all plugins except Cornerstone, WooCommerce and WooCommerce Brands
– then switching to X theme (rather than my customised child theme)
– clearing cache
– refreshing permalinks… but still the problem persists!
Any ideas? Would you be able to take a look? Feel free to make any changes to the live site, no problem.
Thanks
February 22, 2017 at 9:36 am #1381493Hi There,
I did thorough checking again and found out that the current content of your Main Sidebar on Appearance > Widgets > Main Sidebar has page limitation(it will not show on all types of pages). See that I have added a Text Widget with text:BRAND TEST SIDEBAR. See attached screenshot.
February 22, 2017 at 9:49 am #1381510Hi Lely,
Thanks for that, I now understand what you mean, so my WooCommerce widgets are not configured to show on non-standard WooCommerce pages… any idea how I change that? And also how I get these archive pages to show the deafault 2 column product layout?
Thanks
February 22, 2017 at 6:56 pm #1382119Hello There,
Thanks for updating in! Most of these changes is with WooCommerce and might need modifications. Please bear in mind that custom development specially with 3rd party plugins is beyond the scope of our support. For more details about these widgets and its limitations, please check the documentation here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-widgets/
Hope this helps. Kindly let us know.
February 23, 2017 at 2:50 am #1382580Hi Rue,
Thanks for your response. I understand about 3rd party plugins and I will Contact WooCommerce however I just tried switching to the Twentyseventeen theme and found that the brand archive displays much better there, there is no sidebar but the products display just as they should (see screenshot).
It strikes me there must be something very simple that needs adding/editing in a template file or functions.php
February 23, 2017 at 7:10 am #1382814Hi There,
Please contact the plugin developer and let us know what you find out and if you need further assistance upon that.
Thanks
