im-possibleParticipantHi. After the I deactivated the Woo Commerce plugin and my site crashed, I restored the site by changing the woo commerce plugin name or deleting (I can’t remember) through FTP. Knowing that Woo is the recommended plugin for X theme, I installed it again because I am trying to set up a donations page. Because I have a child theme, the WooCommerce default templates are not updated with the WooCommerce updates, so I have several outdated templates. I have attempted to follow Woo Commerce’s instructions but can’t seem to figure it out. Here are the instructions: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/fix-outdated-templates-woocommerce/ I’ve Used FileZilla to try to copy and paste the updated templates but FileZilla wouldn’t let me. (If that was even what I was suppose to do?) I was also unable to download Notepad++ as recommended by Woo. (Because I have a mac?)
Currently, the plugin is preventing me from being able to save changes to the homepage. And the plugin does not seem to be functioning correctly. Could this be due to the out of date templates? Can you help me find an easier way to solve this problem? Please and thank you!

Paul RModeratorHi,
Upon checking I can see you have Woocommece Version 2.7.0-beta-1
Please note that xtheme Latest Supported woocommerce Version is V2.6.9
https://community.theme.co/kb/version-compatibility/
Kindly downgrade your plugin and see if that fixes the issue.
Thanks

im-possibleParticipantHi. Thanks for your help, but how do I downgrade the plugin? I deleted it and looked for the compatible version, but WooCommerce only allows me to download the current version. Is there a better plugin that X theme supports that would allow me to accept donations and sell products in the future?
Also, in the meantime I was trying to create a work around by deactivating all woo plugins to make changes to home page and save, then reactivate plugins, but now changes to homepage will not save even with all Woo plugins deactivated. Ideas about this?
Thanks for all your help!

DarshanaModeratorHi there,
You can simply download an earlier version from the following link (https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce/developers/). Check under the heading “Other Versions”.
Hope that helps.

im-possibleParticipantOkay, thank you. I will try that, but I am still unable to save changes to my homepage–even though I have deleted the WooCommerce plugin.

LelyModeratorHello There,
I tried to check and I am getting this error:
500 Internal Server Error
See attached screenshot.
I would try checking with your hosting provider on this particular issue as it sounds like something related to your setup is causing this. Typically, this is due server configuration problems (i.e. underpowered, traceroute issues, packet loss, permissions errors, et cetera). Additionally, your host will be able to diagnose things much better due to the fact that they have a more complete view of your account and can work behind the scenes with you. If the problem you are experiencing persists after working with your host, don’t hesitate to let us know and we will be happy to assist you. Any relevant information that you can share with us from your host is also greatly appreciated as it will help us to better ascertain the source of the problem.February 16, 2017 at 8:16 am #1373541

im-possibleParticipant1&1 updated the PHP and INI for wp content and increased the max file upload limit, and still no luck. I deactivated the essential grid–just to try–and then I was able to save the website. (I was reluctant to deactivate essential grid because the problem didn’t start until I began using Woo Commerce–changes to homepage were saved while essential grid was active. Additionally, essential grid is, well, essential to the site–as most of our content is displayed with essential grid.) So. Where do we go from here? Ideas?
Also, it seems Woo Commerce V2.6.9 no longer works. Could this be because the updated PHP?
Wait…Now I have deactivated nearly all the plugins, including essential grid and woo, and still not saving. The one save was a fluke, I guess. I’ll call 1&1 again, but if you all have some ideas too, that would be great!
Thanks again for all your help!

im-possibleParticipantMore info from 1&1: They downgraded PHP to 5.6 so it would be compatible with the cornerstone plugin. We were able to save. Activated essential grid, and cornerstone would not save changes to homepage. Deactivated essential grid again to test, and the save was successful. 1&1 said essential grid doesn’t support PHP 5.6. They also said your website says cornerstone supports PHP 7, but that when we tried PHP 7, cornerstone didn’t work. So it looks like there are some compatibility issues, yes?
I assume this is also the problem with Woo Commerce, which I was able to use the V2.6.9 okay–but it still functioned poorly (perhaps because also using woo donate plugin).
So until all the plugins run on the same PHP, I’ll have to work around by deactivating all plugins every time I want to save homepage?
I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if I’m misunderstanding here and there is an easy fix to this problem.
Thanks!
